The Law Office of Kenneth Behrman is conveniently located near the intersection of Interstate 285 and Roswell Road in Atlanta, Georgia. A graduate of Emory University School of Law in 1983, Mr. Behrman began his legal training by clerking for Atlanta's City Attorney, the Honorable Samuel P. McKenzie, Fulton County Superior Court, and the Honorable Horace T. Ward, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. He then began private practice representing injured individuals (personal injury law) in 1983 and started his own practice in 1993.
Since opening his firm, Mr. Behrman has developed a substantial general civil-trial practice, working with both individuals and small-business owners. For individuals, his work revolves primarily around insurance-related matters, such as long-term disability claims and automobile accidents. Prominent cases include a jury verdict in excess of $420,000.00 against a nursing home for a slip-and-fall; a $650,000.00 class-action settlement against a major automobile insurer, a $575,000 settlement for a broken clavicle; a $550,000.00 settlement for a broken leg, a $200,000.00 settlement against an employer/insurer for failing to provide a life insurance conversion form in a timely manner, and a $120,000.00 loan forgiveness plus $100,000.00 additional payment against a lender for predatory practices.
Mr. Behrman is one of a handful of attorneys in the metropolitan Atlanta area with extensive long-term disability experience. Mr. behrman has successfully handled cases against a number of major insurers, including CIGNA, Aetna, Unum/Provident, Hartford, Liberty Life Assurance of Boston, Reliance and Standard Life Insurance Company.
Mr. Behrman also is skilled at handling complex contractual issues, both on behalf of individuals and small businesses. In addition to recovering monies concerning contract disputes, Mr. Behrman also has successfully defended individuals and companies that have been sued for matters including construction claims and real-estate ventures.
An experienced litigator, Mr. Behrman has been admitted to practice in the States of Georgia, New York, and Pennsylvania. He also has been admitted to practice in the federal courts of Georgia as well as in the Supreme Court of the United States.
